Biography

Tom Sammon is a Lean Services project manager for the Georgia Institute of Technology regional office in Carrollton where he focuses on implementing lean manufacturing practices and helping companies develop capital equipment applications.
His 15 years of experience have been in the field of industrial automation and machine building. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, he worked primarily as a project manager implementing equipment systems into lean environments throughout North America. Sammon's work has been primarily in discrete manufacturing, ranging from metalworking and welding with the Panasonic Robotics Group, to high-speed packaging for companies like Procter & Gamble and Colgate-Palmolive. He represents the Enterprise Innovation Institute as an active member of the faculty group Robotics & Intelligent Machines at Georgia Tech (RIM@GT). He sits on the Board of Advisors at West Central Technical College's Industrial Electronics degree program.
Mr. Sammon holds an M.S. in management of technology from Georgia Tech and a B.S. in industrial engineering from Southern Polytechnic State University.
