Turning Technological Competency into Competitive Advantage
Given the fact that education is the key component of the RIM@GT program, students participating in RIM projects have the opportunity to learn about the latest in robotics equipment and software in our laboratories. This direct interaction prepares them to graduate from Georgia tech with technological skills that directly benefit industry. At the same time, industry partners have the opportunity to meet with the students and discuss potential employment.
Short courses tailored for industry participants play yet another important role at RIM@GT. These two-day instructional courses expose participants to topics such as Fundamentals of Autonomous Vehicle Design and Control, Fundamentals of Industrial Robotics and Deployment of Robots, Human-Robot Interaction, and Perception in Robotics. Courses also provide a forum for industry members to contribute fresh concepts and viewpoints related to robotics applications.
